So it's not just me? Is this one of the worst seasons we've had with non-COVID respiratory illnesses in recent memory? I see people getting sick constantly, like once a month every single month. My son's high school has been just full of sick kids since early November, kids are missing LOTS of days

It's so insane! And it's not just primary COVID infections. I really think COVID has damaged people's immune systems. Flu is brutal this year, we now apparently have an RSV season, norovirus is everywhere. About 1/3 of my coworkers are ill all the time. I can still remember 2019. It wasn't like this

It seems being a winter hermit is the best defense.
His aid from region center called in sick for me today with all teh crud. She thinks it's covid. Told her to get her ass to urgent care and get a triple test and anti-virals.
I avoid ever getting sick by simply never going outside, it’s a very helpful byproduct of depression.
With a few exceptions I only really go out for errands and, in decent weather, for walks on an open dirt path anymore.

Teachers, and their families, are sick.
Some people still go to work/school while unwell, which exacerbates their symptoms resulting in even more time away.
This problem WILL NOT go away until the root of it is addressed.
Prevent COVID.
