There's no good news here, but this week SSA got called out on its plans & inspired a huge backlash. Leadership knows the field offices will be a major focal point now. It won't matter when there's not enough manpower, but we all know now where to look for the breakdown.

Had a guy tell me he took a tour of the ATF & there was nobody sitting at the desks & he asked wtf, the only people are in the field, no staff? no secretaries? the place was empty already.

They're already woefully understaffed as anyone who's ever tried to get a hold of someone at SSA knows. They're incredibly helpful when you can talk to them but clearly stretched thin.

I'm on SS and a few years ago someone tried to hack my account. I had to spend the better part of two days waiting in line to meet with a human to confirm my identity in order to continue getting benefits. Can't imagine what it would be like today.
