Let's not also let it go unnoticed that the title of the Executive Order is, "Restoring Names that Honor American Greatness." A) restoring to a name assigned in 1896 is not exactly restoring. How about restoring to a pre-1896 name? B) it implies indigenous peoples are un-American and not great.
Indigenous people are un-American is what this Administration is claiming in support removing birthright citizenship. I want to say that is beyond believe, but it sadly is right in line with the racism now that defines the ruling party.
Yeah, I would like to edit Trump as well. That is certainly a function that would be widely useful, and ... oh, wait, that's not what you meant. Sorry.

C) McKinley was not great, and no one knows who he is. But Trump is desperate to market his tariffs. Ominously, his imperial foreign policy could be a preview of what's to come. More optimistically, he was followed by Teddy Roosevelt.
I agree. What they are doing to our native health services is troublesome. And stating in litigation that native Americans might not be citizens is awful. So thinking the indigenous name isn’t great is exactly what they mean. We know what we’ll call it here anyway.
Exactly. Names reflect cultural values about who is and who is not included. Google and companies like google had a choice, they could have ignored the executive order. Their choice says a lot.
True. I changed my search engine and deleted google maps. The GOM is in error. They can do that though. Some great map alternatives out there. I bet you use Pocket earth with your hiking?
