This might just be because I'm not in a corporate environment, but what's the utility of Google rolling out a "summarize this email" feature? Using their AI to search through emails is actually handy, but most emails are already either summaries or personal letters you actually want to read, no?

In the end it needs to be read eventually. But it's about prioritization
Ability to communicate effectively is generally the #1 skill you expect someone to come into a job with by default.
I got more info digging through pull sheets and architecture drawings and inferring the info myself than I did from the AI summary
I think it is a placeholder. Easy to do, checks AI sauce box, nobody uses it so low coat, no copyright issues.
Hope this helps.
incoming perception: other people in corporate drone on and on and never get to the point, costing my hours of time if i read all the way through their emails.
outgoing perception: nobody reads past my first paragraph, sometimes not past my first sentence, because I'm wasting their time.
