Here’s the thing: Without an algorithm shoveling things at you (thank the gods), interaction *is* different and something you have to, well, actively generate.

People have been conditioned to passively consume, and judge.
It's like showing up at a party, hugging the wall with arms crossed, and complaining others aren't being entertaining enough.
But I'm glad y'all are finding it useful!
- Reply to others’ posts. This is not an auto-follow-back culture, at least not for anyone worth following. Build rapport, show you’re a real human, be worth following.
Now, as to having *good* bait:
- Likewise, promo others. Not in a marketing way, but genuinely sharing. Yell about that book you liked. Repost a fave author’s cover reveal. Make rec list threads. Be a friend’s hype girl/gender-of-your-choice.
For writers, #WIPSnips is super active, #PretendPanel has been this month, #QueerWriters has regular weekly check-ins, just to name a few. Genres have some of their own, like #SFFChat. I’m sure other fields/arts do, too, so find ‘em and play!
You don’t have to hit every post in a tag (some are way too active for that!), but do some browsing & make an effort.
It's funny, because all this stuff is what I expect of Twitter and its just... not like that. Refreshing to have that here!
