Seriously…. Why TF would they even sing that?? Also - wishing you and your fam a good New Year. I’m glad you’re here because I’ve missed your words in my socials.
Last year, I was joking about L.L. Cool J being the top performer. This year, he was missed. Only started watching at 11. Did ABC book any Black singers this year?
The 25th Anniversary concert performance was perfection, with the exception of one person, Nick Jonas, as Marius. He does not have the chops for that kind of performance and for that role. It's kind of cringe.
I was watching it last night with friends but we were so busy playing f ck-marry-kill in regard to the Jonas Brothers that we didn’t listen to the song. No consensus on who to marry but I feel confident that it’s Joe.
I don't think the Jo Bros are going to make it through their tour.
They really didn't seem into the performance last night. Not very happy to be there.
There are literally hundreds of songs about the brutality and senselessness of war that do it better than zombie..3 boring ass chords, repetitive, shallow lyrics..overplayed every year around Remembrance Day because of lazy ass corporate radio stations don't want to play actually interesting music
NBC had Christ Stapleton at least twice. Plus Miranda Lambert, Zach Top, Brittney Spencer and Lainey Wilson. Nice lineup, if you mute the TV during Jelly Roll and Post Malone.
there was a cover by Bad Wolf back in '18 that did it justice. I was just sad that I was, uh, old enough to see covers of Cranberries songs come round.
Delores was supposed to sing on the Bad Wolves version, sadly she passed away. Bad Wolves still did the cover and gave the profits to Delores’ children. It’s quite good too
I'm sure. :) I'm not saying it's like ultra-hard to nail, I'm just saying it's got historical gravitas (The Troubles). But otherwise I hope the Jonas Brothers recover well.
Oh and I hope 2025 recovers well, too. lol cuz we need it.
Unfortunately if I recall correctly Bad Wolves' destroyed their career before it could really take off bc the singer sexually assaulted a woman or something. Ever since I've avoided listening to that cover
yup, I do think they were gonna get her to do vocals as the original plan. the song turned out pretty well and the video was a fitting tribute to her, at least.

Hopefully that sets the tone!
Happy New Year!
I HAD TO TURN IT OFF
Happy New Year to you and yours! May 2025 be better than any of us fear and only good things come to us 🎉🥂🙏🫶
Goodness, I’ll pass on this cover…..
And. None. Of. You. Better. Change. That.

It would get really personal to me if they EVER ruined Ode to My Family. Underrated single.
gonna just listen to the Faye Wong cover for my own sake, then
They really didn't seem into the performance last night. Not very happy to be there.
(I don't know much by them, but that song is pretty culturally important)

But yeah, that's a hard song to get right, and you've gotta go in knowing it's about some fucked up stuff.
