I don't think anyone actually wants it, but a bunch of recent hires suggest that the people that own big newspapers/websites think the future of covering American politics is this kind of cheesy/huffy Tory-scented celebrity gossip tone. I guess rich people find it amusing?

My brain naturally adds "yeah" and "oi" 2-3 times per sentence.
I think that tone speaks to that audience better than it does to their legacy audience

There's a specific horror that I'm feeling more often, seeing things everywhere get worse and being rewarded for their choice with a larger audience and more money.
