AK Okereke was recruited by Cornell but not offered. He got in anyway, walked on, and by the start of his junior year was clearly our best player. Now, he is in the transfer portal because he is going to graduate in three years.

this actually happens all the time, most 5th/6th year guys are hypothetically working on a graduate degree. the portal has created an incredible surplus of guys with a master's in Sports Administration.

Maybe apocryphal, but I recall a story years ago about which UNC department had alums with the highest average income, and Geography was #1, because it had a tiny number of graduates, but one of them was Michael Jordan. These grad programs with transfers are going to have a lot of rich alumni!

Since grad transfers didn't lose a year under the old rules, I'm sure this has already happened.

What I want to see is someone work the combo of transfers and possible eligibility to go bachelor-master-doctorate from three different schools.

Alan Bowman graduated from Texas Tech as a QB, transferred to Michigan for 2 years and got a masters from their highly ranked and expensive business school, then transferred again to Ok State for 2 years and was working on a second masters I think. All on scholarship!

We've had loads of guys grad transfer out after 3 years. With all the summer/winter sessions these guys are on campus for, it's pretty easy to do.

I knew a player who did this at Stanford in the 80s, women’s basketball was not a sport with a required sit out. Period so she got a red shirt year and an MBA. The team earned a national championship & there was a documentary on it.
