This works most of the time in Japan where they have an horrendous hoarder and scalper problem as well. Is standard practice even to sell tickets to theme parks, meet and greets and themed restaurants. If something is tried and tested, do it.
I think it's interesting how much people put the onus at the feet of TPCi when they fundamentally can't do anything about it other than print more cards (that can just as easily be scalped). Unfortunately the only fix is that people need to change. Which. Yeah....
The main thing we need to do is not give them money. If they can’t sell it then it’s a waste of time for them. But I keep seeing people happily shell out on eBay solds.
Getting hold of Journey Together boosters around me hasn’t been too bad so far - I think Prismatic was hit so bad for being one of the “special” sets where individual boosters aren’t sold.
Just hope people don’t give into FOMO & let scalpers sit on their overpriced stock until it’s worthless!
Tbh my only concerns is if Scalpers will continue to buy them up, since now they do it so quickly with bots etc. I feel like the only true solution to this, besides what TPC can do by printing more cards, is for people to not reward scalpers by buying from them. Just let them sit on the cards. Idk
Yea theyre realizing that theyre cards and games havent inspired the next generation of kids. The cards are getting gulped up by 47 y/os looking to make a buck and the games have become pack luster.
Keep going down this road and Pokemon will be aimed more towards adults lol
Again, the people who have bandwagoned onto the tcg for profit have ruined not just the profitability of their cards but the availability and enjoyment a lot of others got from it. These cards will be worthless in 20 years bc so many will have been printed.
If I ran a card shop, I'd be a vendor that takes ETBs out of the wrapping I'd cut the corners on the packs inside just to prevent resellers from buying from me.

I JUST rage-watched a video about how much TPCi screwed over "investors" by reprinting Pikachu in Grey Felt Hat.
I can't wait for Pokémon cards to fall out of style for market speculators again.
Just hope people don’t give into FOMO & let scalpers sit on their overpriced stock until it’s worthless!

they will find a way to profit
Did we get massive print runs after that from any other set? Doesn't seem so. SOLD OUT is my new favourite set.
