Outright homeownership is surly stratified by socio-economic group.
Country estate - farm- Georgian town house-three bedroom semi - ex council house.
Brexit voters must be more commonly found in different house types, and there must also be different location related £values.

But regardless, Lynch is definitely better off than most of the "working class" who aren't on 85k a year. Probably a homeowner too. His Lexit views are baffling 2 me, how can sum1 who purports 2 be hero of working class fav something which makes ppl poorer.

I'm sorry, but this goes against how the vote panned out. Red wall voters voted for brexit, as the old mill and mining towns felt abandoned, hardly wealthy. Middle-class areas voted remain. Whilst the very wealthy voted brexit as they saw it as means to make more money.

Geographical areas contain multitudes. You have pockets of wealth inside poor regions, including retired older homeowners with fully paid off mortgages.

Dundee is one of the most deprived cities of Britain, and voted remain. As did Liverpool.

Liverpool remained Labour and is a socialist hotbed. The red wall has a higher level of poverty and higher unemployment due to lack of investment, which is why they voted for brexit, as they thought it would bring change to them. Nothing to do with wealth.

In regard to Scotland (where I used to live) - the ruling SNP provided a robust pro-European argument which helped swing the country as a whole towards Remain, even deprived and rural areas. Labour on the other hand were lackluster at best.

Too many listened to the right wing media, and i include the BBC in this, who were party to allowing the leave campaign to make ridiculous claims without challenging them. Remain tried using facts, but the media were more interested in nonsense soundbites.

Too many listened to sound bites without using critical thinking. Those who voted brexit were a mix of the disenfranchised, racists, and the wealthy who saw the 'cutting of red tape' as a means of making vast sums of money. They are also make up the membership of Reform UK Ltd.

I preferred the abstract, as that is a long-winded read. It seems to ignore the different factors in Scotland and N Ireland compared to England & Wales. I didn't see a mention of mortgage holders, who would be very risk averse, and also the massive factor of media bias.

Those red wall seats then voted tory, and are now looking to Reform UK Ltd. They are changing, not because they are suddenly wealthy, but because successive governments, since the 80s, have ignored them and the needs of their communities.
