Part of the problem is the generation that resented "Dad's Army" because it was evidence their fathers had more character in their pinkies than the sons they raised.

I like the movie because it shows the social side of what happened in 1930s/40s Germany.People who grew up friends, but ended up on opposite sides. The bar scene is chilling when they are bullying the old man. Like the book They Thought They Were Free.
