It's very strange, especially since there was a thing in the UK/Europe where certain brands had fire risks due to lint build up, and they sent engineers out to do a fix. Now, I believe they have to come with dual traps. I clear both of mine with every use.
Hmm, we always empty the lint trap when putting a load *into* the dryer, not when taking one out. Maybe that’s it?
(Now if they’re not emptying it at all, ever, before or after, I dunno what to tell ya. 🤷🏻♀️)
My dryer helpfully (cough) leaves the "Clean Lint Filter" alert on at all times as a reminder, whether there's anything in the filter or not. I wasted a fair amount of time trying to troubleshoot that before I found out that was by design.
By now it's just notification noise. Counterproductive!
The latest in the best selling anthology of “why is my family pathologically incapable of…” featuring such timeless classics as “turn off the lights,” “hang up the towel,” “close the cabinets/drawers,” “close the fucking door,” and of course who can forget “flush the goddamn toilet?”
The universal experience of parenthood. The anthology is, by the way, at least 30 volumes long. And still unfinished. My personal favorite is “be ready to go in a timely fashion.”
As someone who moved in this summer with my partner and his children after living alone for decades, ALL OF THESE. The open cabinets/lack of toilet flushing makes me CRAZY.

Not joking in any way; a clean lint trap is a mind free from worry.
