I wouldn't hold my breath. Canada's biggest issue is bureaucracy, which is very similar to the UK and Japan. Any Nuclear power plant they build will go way over budget, and in Ten Years, everyone will hate the idea.
I hope it is about the CANDU MONARK being the preferred large nuclear option for Canada but I am not optimistic with the announcement being made in Cambridge.
It is crazy that we are still considering the AP1000 for large nuclear at Bruce and funding the FOAK American SMR in Darlington.
CANDU is better and cheaper. We also do not need to see the last bits of the Canadian technology sector killed by vassalage to the US like it happened with the Bombardier C-Series.
Fingers crossed that some experimental OPG fusion reactor has been casually powering the entire province of Ontario for the past six weeks while in stealth mode.
We have enriching nuclear reactors, and top nuclear engineering programs. If we were serious, and werenβt being fancy, it would be measured in months
π Gotta somehow power these new high-speed trains. π A nuclear reactor isn't something built overnight. Now if only we could find a better way to deal with β’οΈ waste.

Hope I'm Wrong but I don't think I am.

A guy can hope for things, right?
Suitable delivery vehicles would take longer
Not sure Trump cares much about those cities...
