To many Americans look at politics as a game with no consequences. We are so insulated many don’t seem to understand that for others outside the US these kind of actions and threats cause real consequences even if it there is no invasion of Canada for some delusional neo-imperialism.

I’ve had friends do campaign work for people in places to oust Republicans just to have those Democrats turn around and effectively work against their own interests, like censuring one of their own party’s representatives or voting awful fascism advancing bills.

fortunately there are some americans who are aware of the seriousness of these threats and the rapid destabilization of relations between our two nations. personally, I am scared that there will be conflict. that would be absolutely terrible. and I don’t think that’s an alarmist view at this point
