I saw a programme on ultra-processed food & it terrified me. So I now cook everything I can from fresh ingredients.
I am lucky because:
a) I have the time
b) I can afford fresh ingredients
Health and Human Services just put out a memo saying that RFK Jr will personally eat any food before you have to try it. If he survives 5 days afterwards then the food is safe to eat.
the local import store should you be lucky enough to be in a diverse state seems like the safest bet for staples right now. i have european, latin american, and asian stores within about a half hour, and i imagine should things Get Worse (lol they will) that's where i'm going to be headed
This is why knowing about the actual world around us and what its made of is important. People out there eating ronzoni pasta in pink sauce with a side of ivermectin. Nobody knew when flat screens were new either.
I used to have to eat Puffer Fish to get my little bit of excitement playing "Beat the Reaper". Now pretty much everything I eat will be part of the same game!
This is bogus advice that greatly ignores the actual needs of individuals as well as denying the very real health/safety issues in agricultural sectors. Blaming meat when lettuce gets recalled most often is gullible at best
Dollette people don’t depend on lettuce as their main source of protein like they do with meat. Your comparison doesn’t really stand up. Also if you want to talk about ignoring the needs of individual let’s do it. Animal agriculture is the reason we still have starving people in the world today
And Militant veganism depletes those starving nations of their staple crops to feed western colonials their "super food" of the week. The solution is not mandatory diets, it's focusing on Local growth and community sources. The fresh beef from a local ranch isnt the same as WalMart's mass production
Cap 🧢 veganism can feed the developing world. The reason we obliterate places like the Amazon is to make cheap crops to fatten up your food. The beef they make goes to Walmart and McDonald’s. That’s the meat that most Americans consume. Not your high grade A grade $50 steak
We literally starve entire populations in the south to feed quinoa to the north. Please get off your high horse before it's legs splinter under the weight of your ego. You're hatred of meat production isn't a problem with eating meat, it's a problem with capitalism. Please look beyond your own nose
Neither type of food is "healthy or not healthy"(diversity is needed for many reasons) for humans and it's incredibly obtuse to claim that "just go vegan" solves any issues currently affecting people, or the animals in industrial farms.
It’s definitely factual. People who follow plant based diets on average live longer and healthier lives than those who eat a regular American diet. Imo there should be more recalls. Our capitalist system has prioritized making money instead of keeping us healthy
This is what I made for dinner last night. All fresh veggies on tandoori bread. Cheeses not highly processed. Each one had 1 piece of bacon crumbled on it. I'm a carnivore but eat meat very sparingly. I don't eat fast food because it's trash. I'm pretty good to my body.
😂 Science and data are a thing. As far as the safety of food goes people are just as likely to be sickened by fruits and veggies as they are to meat. Making healthy eating choices has nothing to do with that. I even agree with you the Western diet is shit. Still doesn't change the facts.
Funny how 99% of recalls are for conventional and GMO foods, but the headlines never reads “regular crappy lettuce with pesticide residues recalled.” Yet they trumpet “organic greens recalled” just to trigger people.
Yeah, there's a huge difference between "doesn't cause cancer" and "so far we've found no conclusive evidence this causes cancer." It took us decades to figure out and accept that smoking causes cancer, and it blatantly causes cancer.
my spouse & i already decided we’re only buying our produce from local farmers markets going forward. even if it’s a little more pricey, it’s small businesses that are being mindful & we would rather support our safety along with local businesses over big box we can no longer trust. such a shame.
Look for the Non-GMO label. They can't use it if there is a certain % of GMO. Avoid anything with numbered color dyes. Like Red 40. Thoroughly scrub & clean all fruits & vegetables including oranges & bananas. Strawberries and spinach are the worst. Soak in water with baking soda for 20 mins.
Yes. What a great company!!! It's either sulfites or high histamine. My tolerance to things changed drastically about 3 years ago. Every company should be run like Bob's
Yea, we once had a law called the ‘pure food and drug act’ that has been decimated by big businesses and politicians to the point of it is no longer effective or not enforced. Go figure.
Improve your diet where you can. It’s more important to add than take away. Most of us are not getting proper calories or nutrition and that’s where we need to start, even if the food providing them is compromised.
American processed food is Prohibited in the EU. It doesn't meet the minimum safety requirements of the EU. But animal feed and pet food is.
Strange that.
EU farmers won't feed any muck to their Livestock.

It seems they were never safe. Foods are laced with so many chemicals. Which cause chemical reactions in the body that causes adverse affects. The water we drink, the air we breathe even the soil are poisoned and polluted. It’s a shame that the things that we need to sustain us are killing us.
We can absolutely know what foods are safe and health promoting if we look at the preponderance of scientific evidence.
Unfortunately we live in a snap shot of time where there is a preponderance of misinformation as well.
Government has spent billions on agencies to protect people from corporations that are more concerned with their bottom line than your health and well being. trump is going to try to undo all of that in the name of reducing government.
I read a book once that said we should eat like Jesus. Nothing processed ever. All fresh meat, vegetables, & fruits. However, these are even questionable if you didn’t raise yourself.
I'm 69 and eaten raw vegetables everyday of my life. Only in the last few years have I worried about those illnesses so I WASH them now more than ever.
oh yeah, so much has changed thanks to the food processing industry with thier chemicals and goodness knows what else. You be surprised at what's in there
Well, it's not like humans haven't been here before.
You can't imagine what we ate in the past. Most people turn their nose up and stuff we used to eat. Humans always seem to live in little circles, don't we. LOL

worry about its safety.
You thought we were jealous…
I’m learning how to make all kinds of bread.
I learned how to make my own shampoo, conditioner, face cleanser, hand soap, dish soap, body lotion, facial cream and serums and more.
Going to learn to do as much as I can myself.
If you have a specific item you’re curious about, I can type it out for you.

They won’t be putting ecoli or salmonella on the ingredients list. I’m not even sure where you were going with that
Trump promised to take us back.
The science is not closely as confusing as what the media makes of things.
I am always angry about how bad science reporting in MSM is.
Sucks...
The only way to know anything with a degree of certainty is to go to the source.
There is often a grain of truth in the news, but just a grain. It's not unknown for them to cite a scientist with a completely wrong conclusion.
Unfortunately we live in a snap shot of time where there is a preponderance of misinformation as well.
(This is why you can never be sure)
Hospital price - unaffordable. Yay!!
Bad again?
Will bird flu make them bad again?
Or good again?
And an odd question...
When did all these people become allergic to gluten?
There are whole aisles in the grocery stores now.
If you poop. It was real.
If you don't. It wasn't.
But maybe that's too late?
