That is assuming that chicken farmers are still in business in 18 months and that the flu isn't going to be a continuing problem. Other farm produce like pork and bacon are also on the rise, so it may also be part of a wider problem, one that won't be helped by the attacks on immigrant workers.

What if Trump, say, interfered in the work of the Americans trying to manage and slow the spread of avian flu and ordered them to stop communicating with scientists outside their own agencies?
