I don't know that I could think of a better illustration of a journalist following the authoritarian's playbook than this description of Trump's first 100 days. I'm not just criticizing the journalism, here. I'm saying journalists are playing the role Trump wants them to play.

These are the journalists who would report Hitler’s ‘skillful rhetoric,’ ‘charm’ & ‘determination to put Germany first,’ while ignoring, you know, the *other* stuff.
