You all have been so kind and supportive. I can’t tell you what that means to me. Please get your mammograms. My first was my most important one.
Months ago I said I wasn’t able to hear how cancer touched your lives bc I was focusing on my care. If you want to share with me now, I can hear you. 🩷
My dad is a case similar to yours: colon cancer about 17 years ago, found during routine screening, successfully treated with surgery. But what I learned was that once the c word touches your life, it never leaves. There was more peace after the 10 year scan.
Love that for him. Yeah, the ongoing surveillance is important. Though I understand how some people have a hard time sticking with it. I’m sure getting some distance will feel even better.
He was lucky enough to be at Fred Hutchinson for his care, so he never missed an appointment. He still does all his follow-ups even though they're much farther apart now.
So happy for you! That’s amazing. I’m handling chemo OK so far, but it’s still a drag! I’m glad you can avoid it — cherish it and every other moment ❤️
Thank you Raju. I feel very fortunate to have avoided both chemo and radiation. I hope your treatment is going as well as it possibly can. Do you have a sense for how many more cycles you have?
