Not convinced that either Chlamy or Mycoplasma would make for good benchmark specimens. We need something easy to make / grow. In my experience, no one wants mycoplasma in their cell culture labs. And even attenuated forms may raise safety concerns. Chlamy needs special lights to be happy AFAIK (?)
