“All donations that originate from abroad, no matter who is the final donor, should be banned. Only UK citizens should be allowed to donate to British political organisations. This would, by necessity mean no donations from private companies; PLCs, LTDs..”

NO TO AIPAC in UK
End friends of israel also be it tories or labour
Everyone knows that lobbyists "donations"are merely disguised bribes.
Everyone knows that our politicians have been bought, often by other countries. Yet nobody seems able to stop it.
Ask "who benefits?" to find out why.
Sadly seems to work to their advantage

Just before UK got a sudden hard on for Brexit
people were willing to sell their souls.
So max in an election cycle is £13k which isn't outrageous. Enforceable rules about permitted freebies etc like any reputable business.
I think the answer is MPs accounts must be scrutinised.
And we need to ensure we properly close off the ways around this as well.
And limit individual and company donations to a reasonable level.
We need a level playing field where political influence cannot be bought with large sums of money.
In the meantime and as expected, Tories' friends that purchased Royal Mail at much lower price that market are making a huge profit!
They all come with the expectation of a 'return'
We've had enough of the mega rich influencing our elections for their own ends.
False claims and undelivered promises incur vote debits at next election.
Ya think That’s a problem????

Grimes.
Not suggesting that it shouldn’t …)
-How would political parties fund themselves ?
Where would the money come from to pay our politicians £90’000 a year ?
When many of them sleep at work.
-The taxpayer perhaps ??
How ? -we don’t have enough money as it is.
Can we not have an international gofundme to finance a Zambian law suit to sue the Musk crime family?
I thought you would have known that.

In the defense of the UK vs US, the UK has that wonderful "vote of no confidence" mechanism that we lack here in the US.
It's a brilliant safeguard you have that we sorely lack here in the US. Your very fortunate. Guy
The impeachment process here is tangled; the House of Representatives must vote, then the Senate. Trump was impeached twice by the House when last in office but the Republican Senate said no, even with the impeachment warranted.

UK, for all you love, please keep this shit out of your politics.
It fails to achieve political impartiality when the board is stacked with Johnson appointees and its negative approach towards genocide🙄
Make it where you pay your taxes.
