The Government is now deliberately conflating a UK-EU Youth Mobility Scheme with a return to freedom of movement to justify its position it would cross their Brexit red lines.

I thought the issue with this was uni tuition fees. The EU wants students who come to the UK to be treated as domestic and pay lower fees as part of the deal.

UK universities are on their asses so can't afford the loss if loads of international students become domestic and pay less. Am I wrong?

Those european students aren’t coming anymore because of the high fees. The drop since Brexit has been vertiginous — more than 50%. We’re not losing out on international fees, we’re losing out on any fees at all.
