I just read a second book about wolves, they´re howling to communicate with the other pack members, but also with other wolf packs, but they are NOT howling at the moon, like it´s said so often or shown in movies, that´s nonsense.

I saw my first red wolf going to the beach in NC. And my 2nd one at Dan Nicolas park in NC, it was kinda like a mini zoo. I felt bad for them being there
When my son was in 7th gr we watched a documentary on Owls. When I tell you we spent the next TWO YEARS hooting in like 15 different species of owl, well, I am not kidding! Still one of my fondest memories. He’s 22 now 😔
I love all/almost all animals, too!! The pittie I have rn is a foster. Her mom is recovering from broken bones in her spine due to cancer and she didn’t have anyone to take her while in the hospital.
Also I have chickens, 2 turkeys, and 2 cats.

I have a somewhat rare recording of Wendy Carlos' "Sonic Seasonings". There's a section in it that features wolf howls. One night long ago and far away, I had a party and we were sitting around listening to it.
One of my neighbors had a German Shepherd - very peaceful and gentle dog - and for some reason, the dog was with us listening. When the howls came up, the dog jumped up like a soldier being called to attention - scared the crap out of me.
