Someone is playing, or maybe singing, opera in my neighborhood & I'm getting just a hint of it, which feels like a highly appropriate soundtrack for everything going on this morning.

When my son lived in China he was in a city famous for traditional Chinese opera. They practiced every morning starting at 4 a.m. directly behind his back door. While he appreciated the art form, the before sunrise performance was not always beloved.
I started to listen Opera after the election because I can not stand any talking stations on SiriusXM. It's like thinking this will all go away. I know, but when I can deal with it, I will.
Throughout San Francisco the garbage pick-up trucks would greet the morning with opera blasting from their trucks and I have to say it was the most delightful municipal experience I’ve ever witnessed …
I am of the firm belief that nothing bad can happen to me while I’m listening to Vivaldi. Going to get a lot of playing time for the foreseeable future.
I was sitting outside while conducting an open house by our university, and a local mariachi band was practicing in a yard nearby. I don't usually listen to mariachi music, but it was such a fun way to spend a gorgeous, sunny afternoon.
What is the soundtrack for a Veteran not having her vote counted?
Asking for a friend. A very angry Marine friend.
I have already asked my US house Rep to ask 4 investigation, & my state rep to find out what happened.
My ST rep was @ polling place (legally distanced), & my vote still didn’t count!
Ah yes, denying your Identity is the beginning of the first step to recovery. "Step 1: We admitted we were powerless over Donald J. Trump—that our lives had become unmanageable"
Last month, Biden gave Israel 30 days to increase the number of aid trucks it allows into Gaza to 350/day, or risk losing access to US military aid.
Those 30 days are now up. Israel has let in just 54/day, on average. ~Stephen Semler
You made me think of a memory from my childhood. I remember being in my bedroom on a Sunday morning in summer. The windows were open and I could hear a woman singing a Gospel song in the distance.
When I rehearsed with my harpist, my dog Lucy would love to "sing along" (her favorite piece was Mozart's Allelujah)
Afterward, my neighbor would say, "Were you rehearsing today?" And I'd say, "Yes!" She would reply, "I thought so. I could hear Lucy singing!" 😂
Welp, it's not me, but I do have a bit of Gypsy Jazz and some Johnny Mercer going, so my neighbors are definitely hearing songs like Skylark, and The Autumn Leaves.
Do you remember when before COVID vaccines we were isolated and in NYC , some performers were singing out their open windows? Those scenes gave me hope.
It also reminds me of a summer long ago, I was visiting a friend's family in Pennsylvania and something similar was playing. My friend's dad said, "You know what the most beautiful sound in the world is?" and my friend and his brother (both career musicians now) said, "the sound of women's voices."
Occasionally someone in my office will play music, and I can hear the faint sounds of it coming from someone’s computer, but not loud enough for me to ID the source. I honestly love that someone thinks they’re jamming out privately but they’re actually sharing whatever genre they love with me.
I don't live in your neighborhood so it's not me, but I've been loudly singing (some arias, some not) as a stress/anxiety reliever. I even made up a protest song while vacuuming and using a box-cutter to cut up some boxes so they fit in my recycling bin. It's very therapeutic - try it (the singing).
With appropriate clients, I would sometimes recommend that they consider the drama they're describing to be a personal opera. Usually that would bring a big laugh. So, I get it. Where are our current Voltaire and Leonard Bernstein?

He’s actually pretty good, except when he’s doing it at 11 pm 😒
It was fantastic and a great respite from all the Trump stuff.
I was thinking of playing “Everything is broken.”
