The flaws of the Constitution is it assumes that ALL elected leaders are not corrupt, which it often mentions that a pres. should be above reproach. Even though impeachment is a tool, the problem is not all senators will act in good faith. It seems to ignore the doctrine of the depravity of man.

possible agenda for new constitutional convention? repeal pardon power, electoral college, and 2nd amendment. split the exec branch into 3, foreign policy, domestic policy, criminal prosecutions. scotus term limits. campaign finance. unfettered access to abortion.

Although I like your suggestions, 2/3rds of the states (34) have to call a constitutional convention, and any amendments still have to be approved by 3/4s of the states(38). Unlikely those numbers could currently be reached.

yeah, but the journey of 1 million steps starts with 1. we need a page 1 rewrite of the constitution. got to start pushing ideas out into the mainstream consciousness that we have the power to change things. we don’t have to live like this. even holding mock conventions would be interesting.

Exactly. The last British monarch to have 100% “absolute” power was King John. Starting with the signing of Magna Carta in 1215 the monarchy began a gradual decline in power, which pretty much concluded at the end of the 17th Century, evolving into what we know as a constitutional monarchy.
