Anyone else tried downloading the trial version of this? For me, it reaches the end of the download and gives me an “unable to connect to server” error message. Wondering if it’s an issue with Safari because it’s not the first time this has happened - ThreadSky

Not sure people appreciate what a big deal the Microwave 1 VST/AU releases are. The AU costs £25. Good luck finding a Microwave in decent condition for <£1000. Waldorf have invested huge efffort to emulate the chips themselves. For instance, it runs at 250 kHz. IMO, this is when digital succeeds

Yeah I think that’s why nobody seems aware you can update the Blofeld to allow user waveforms. I guess I’ll just have to buy the MW on the App Store. It’s not like it’s even expensive

Yeah, seriously such amazing value. I would honestly recommend people buy an iPad just for this app. For £375 you can get a Microwave (and everything else an iPad does). Spend another £20 on AUM and you can have many Microwaves (and everything else AUM gets you)

I tried for many years to convince people iPads offer some seriously good music apps (AUM, Sector, Wavestation, M1, Elastic Drums, Mono/Poly, etc) but there’s little understanding of how it’s actually quite easy to integrate an iOS device into a MIDI hardware setup

Oh….TAL’s UNO-LX is fantastic too. A better sounding Juno emulation than Roland’s Boutique imho. I hope he ports his Jupiter 8 plugin to iOS too

Have not, no. Would be all over the Jupiter-8. I have a Deepmind (a Behringer synth I'm unlikely to move away from - really like it), so haven't looked too closely at digital options

Agree, that's not the first thing people think of. Have you seen the iConnectivity Audio 4C, BTW? It's a dual-host soundcard, which can connect to two USB-C hosts at once, sending/receiving in both directions. So you can have iPad and other OS (or two iPads) working together. Pretty sweet.

I have the iconnectivity MIDI+ which has an unbelievable wealth of connection options. So much so that, after 9 years, I still haven’t got it configured exactly right ;)

Didn't have an issue but I use Vivaldi 🤷‍♂️ It works well but if you want a free version of Microwave XT that runs the actual firmware The Usual Suspects' Xenia does a great job: https://futurenoize.com/dsp56300/builds/xenia/ Setup is slightly tricky but search engines can help, and skins from the Discord improve UI

The setup is not super-complicated; grab the ROMS from Synthesizer ROM Archive (https://dbwbp.com/index.php/9-misc/37-synth-eprom-dumps) and drop into the plugin folder.
