What would actually be awesome is a year in review email from EZ-Pass with stuff like the top five speeds you were clocked at going through toll plazas

I was in the UK this summer and they had these speed enforcement cameras that would cite you if you hit the second relay point too early and istg if we ever get those here i am so fucked
When I lived in Rome the center city was closed to cars except certain days, enforced by cameras at each entry point snapping your plate as you entered. So Italian guys would drive to the spot, turn around, and back in. The camera snapshot showed a car leaving, not entering, so didn't issue a ticket
It was. A constant battle between people defying regulation, met by piling on more regulations, met with more defiance.
I drove there for a year, it was amazing. Once I became accustomed to the chaos, places I'd *thought* had crazy driving - Paris, NYC, now feel like retirement communities.
Yeah. I remember several people in Rome telling me well if you think this is chaos try driving in India. To them Rome seemed normal and that felt like chaos.
Okay okay. Guilty secret here. I slow down to the limit when going through these because I was raised in England, where basically any framing or structure on the road is a speed camera.
Might have done 65 through a few PA Turnpike toll plazas my first time using an EZ-Pass on a rental. I assume those are rookie numbers. (In my defense, Colorado toll roads are all new enough that even when they had cash lanes, they were in pullouts, so we don't even slow down for ExpressToll.)
I wish EZ-Pass would get their shit together and start the time for rental car use of a transponder when I enter the info before I leave the airport! It mucks the 1st day EVERY DAMN TIME! 😡
Don't think the transponders can do that. There was talk about deriving an average speed from the timestamps on two reads in a row (known distance apart, see) AFAIK though, so this is basically doable

Then I visited New Delhi.
