I had the thought, while reading this, that when a good kid's movie is made, people tend to call it a "family movie" instead. Because if it was made primarily with kids in mind, it'd be slop, right?

Very good review. Have heard there are Rocky Horror style screenings of it. Which gives me some hope? Like, I wouldn’t know what references were funny, but something is being made for younger people that the olds don’t understand. And that is good, and they know it is stupid, too.

I'm not sure what point you're making, but the circumstances surrounding CASABLANCA's creation are much, much, much different from those surrounding A MINECRAFT MOVIE's. It was not, as you say, "ground through the studio mill" - I can't even begin to know what you mean by that for a film from 1942.
