This is absolutely accurate, and we extremely online, we merry band of dipshits, are now in the surreal position of wondering how long it’ll take the rest of the world to figure this out.

What's happening in America is that, in the most literal sense, internet trolls have taken over the government.

An example: there have been *very public and disastrous* results from TX's anti-abortion laws. But nothing happened to change it.
I miss when "trolling" online brought to mind sending people rickrolls, pranking entire discussion forums into taking hoax/satire websites seriously, or secretly building booby traps on your friends Minecraft server.
I know I know, not all trolling of the past was harmless pranks either, but I can't be the only one who feels like the concept itself used to be less... well, less outright evil?
Now online is here, and it is like some sickening .. thing... crawled out of the internet and infected our body politic.
