To think there is only one who is most vulnerable is to be blind to the fact that there are many in many different circumstances that are very vulnerable
Being a bisexual member of the LGBTQ2SIA+ Community does NOT make you exempt from racism! Take your little snow roach self back to Twitter! Racists are NOT welcome on BlueSky! #RACISTSGOHOME
It’s crazy how many people I’ve had to distance myself from after the election because when I found out if they voted they said something along the lines of “no, I don’t pay attention to politics”
As if it’s some high vibrational zen energy earth goddess take like yasss queen you go fuck rights 😞
Because of course, we know better than them what's best for them. The problem that often arises is, they also think they know what's best for us and we don't like it.
They are. That's a fundamental misunderstanding that has been foisted by "materialist" Dems like Pelosi who say everything comes down to "kitchen table issues." Just bc folks say "eggs are .50 more & that is my line in the sand" does not mean that's the real reason. It's not about money at all.
Gustave LeBon
"The masses have never thirsted after truth. They turn aside from evidence that is not to their taste, preferring to deify error, if error seduce them. Whoever can supply them illusions is easily their master; whoever attempts to destroy their illusions is always their victim."
They do vote for their own best interests, and you saying different shows you think you know more about their lives than they do. You don't. Your elitism (and most likely racism) is showing.
They think they are voting in their own best interests. Because the Republicans, at least speak to their anger and their frustration, and the Democrats don't acknowledge it. Everything is always sunshine and roses. With the democrats, they're completely out of touch.
I think this sort of mindset causes modern liberals to lose elections. Regardless of how true one may think it is, it's quite elitist and contributes to problematic "I know better than you" dynamic in political life.
That’s kinda why when people ask me what I’m doing for my community I ask what is my community doing for me? I’m voting to protect them and some of the more vulnerable people in it can’t even vote for themselves. Shit is unfathomable..
Collective ignorance among the citizenry is the result of over 60 years of deliberately underfunded and undermined public education as per the political right. Then much easier for sociopathic demagogues to lie to, misdirect, and otherwise gaslight people into voting against their own interests.
There is an element of our society that are too stupid to know how stupid they are. We try to keep them afloat and they just drag us down with them. They don't value education and don't embrace change, so the world has left them behind because they're either too stupid or lazy to do better.
Unfortunately we need to start getting aggressive with education and shunning certain people, the people who know nothing are much louder than the people who know something
This is what's so frustrating. The people that don't vote from themselves tell me the reason they vote the way they did and more often than not, it's based on misunderstanding, active ignorance, and being content to be fed information.
I think this is right. Most people have a very limited understanding of how government works. If you don't know how it works, then you can't appreciate the benefits or harms that result from a particular approach to government. And so you'll vote based on vibes, personalities, hunches, etc
The #FeloniousFascist is, inter alia, a demagouge, which is someone for which the Framers of the Constitution set up safeguards to prevent such a person from ever getting into the WH. All of those safeguards failed....TWICE.
...I am still grappling with this. I thought the worst was when Bush was elected....AGAIN!!!! after the Iraq War scandal...yet we have managed to outdo ourselves.
If you are interested in a really good read, it was for me anyways, it's called "Good Reasonable People" by Keith Payne. It broke down political identity for me on how/why people fall in line with their groups view.
Active ignorance is never ‘finding the time’ to familiarize yourself with the details, never being willing to go into specifics, remaining credulous towards a pol or news source while acknowledging the steady flow of distortions & lies. If you have one, take a look at your FB tl [shudder]
Good question. Someone told me that less access to health care for women had nothing to do with the presidency, and if the 46th president wanted to change it, he should have during his term. I asked him if he ever sought news outside his echo chamber? ...no answer.
When someone doesn’t bother to look up definitions and facts. If I don’t understand what’s being said, I hop on the internet and look something up UNTIL I get a good understanding of it. Then I make my decision on what I think of it and to act or not.
I think he means something like wilful ignorance.
Anything that doesn't fit with what they believe, they reject and no amount of discussion or facts will change that.
Being woke to the point facts and logic are overridden by a belief system, goes for my side too. We have to get back to where we can come together debate topics and be willing to hear and listen
Maybe, just maybe, you don't really know what their best interest is?
You should vote based on your best interest and let everyone else do the same. If they vote "wrong" (I don't think there's such a thing) let them reap their consequences.
We call this the "perfect victim" in the biz. We make up a marginalized person who isn't helping themselves so that we don't have to do anything either.
It's just like saying all homeless people are secretly making a lot of money.
Unpleasant truth? This is why Democrats lost. They say they're y'all loving and respect minorities, but believe they know what's best for them. If minorities don't vote for whoever liberals want, y'all call them trash and bash them. You really show your true colors
I do vote in my best interests and so does my whole family. This is a heavily religious places, but they don't even understand the Christianity they want to pedal. They are too busy twisting it. Ozarks used to be socialist, not now
Ah, yes, and also we must convince them to be loudly thankful and appropriately appreciative of our paternalism as these stupid mudfucking dipshits aren't truly worthy of our attention!
It beats me. 50% of the households don't make enough to pay tax. Then you see some of them go gaga with Trump's promised tax cuts for the riches. The same goes with the tariff. They are the ones who will pay for it.
Trade wars—or disputes,—were quite predominant topics during the 1980s. We were supposed to have learned by now that tariffs don’t work in consumer-driven economics. Negotiating balanced trades is a better option. Trump’s efforts will also fail. Hopefully, this time, we’ll actually learn—again.
Aaaaand there’s the authoritarian holier than thou attitude. It’s what makes you folks so dangerous and why the country rejected you. Keep your so called kindness to yourself where you can’t hurt others. You belittle others and think yourself superior all the while acting magnanimous. Pretty gross.
And there is the dilemma. So when Trump speaks and sounds like an idiot, guess what? That’s what Trumpers mean when they he is one of them! He’s like them.
So there is an inherent conflict in progressive thought. On the one hand, people are told to vote on behalf of others' interest. On the other, you're attacked if you vote "against your SELF interest"
So which is it? Sounds like a cheap ploy to get people to vote D no matter what.
That's how I vote every election. I have done fine under many different parties. I vote for who will look after the most vulnerable. It's never Conservatives.
I may be thick, but it never occurred to me until about 2 years ago that a person might vote only based on their personal self-interest. Seems insane, but maybe it's true for some.
The "Democrat way" isn't protecting anyone, it never has. It just paints a smile on the oppression, it allows to continue & pretends like it's not there. If you wish to truly protect people you would have realized voting isn't the way, & supporting the Bourgeois certainly isn't.
I DID.Trump! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE IN AMERICA. THIS IS NOT DEMOCRACY AND NOT AMERICAN VALUES! NO SHERIA LAW IN AMERICA! DEPORT THEM ALL!!! THIS IS A HATE CRIME AND DESERVES THE DEATH PENALTY!! unlike the left who calls words violence this is real violence not calling some1 a pronoun they don't prefer
Except the most vulnerable people didn’t vote for their own interests. Hispanics, young people, women, blacks, even LGBTQ voted more Republican than in 2020. I don’t get it.
The only thing that makes sense is the Republican leaning media and advertising has been filling the airwaves in the swing states for so many years that they were completely brainwashed.
It's the media.

That's easy...the most vulnerable are the babies who are aborted.
Every year more than 600.000 babies are being killed in the U.S. alone and they can do nothing about it... that's vulnerable.
The most vulnerable person I know is me, so I vote for my own interests and have no interest in the interests of those who don’t respect my perspective or me as a person. Put it that way.
When making decisions on behalf of someone else, it's essential to prioritize their human and civil rights. This means respecting their autonomy and dignity, while also ensuring their safety and well-being
The most vulnerable people I know are low income and working class, so that's why I voted for Trump, instead of a candidate handpicked by the donor class and was allowed bypass democracy by skipping the primary.
I have never been able to vote in my own best interests. I believe it's my duty as a citizen to vote for what I believe will be the better option for the whole country
Those that missed this UBER-factual statement are now receiving the consequences of the #FAFO recipients. No one in their orbit told them about the "what you send out comes back TIMES THREE" axiom of the universe. #LifeIsHard #AwakenQuicklyThoseStillSleeping
Everything is connected. You aren’t just voting for more vulnerable people. Food stamps have an ROI. Educated people are your medical professionals, etc. Einstein was an immigrant. Just have some common decency.
It’s important that you aren’t assuming what vulnerable people want though. A lot of privileged folks make assumptions without actually talking to people about what they want and need.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣OMGOSH you're going with "Sky Daddy"🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣do you have any IDEA how much of a joke your tired, lameass, bumper sticker Snotty Internet Atheism script is to pretty much EVERY believer?🤣🤣🤣

The exact opposite of how the americans voted this election. We have literally become the trash the felon orange rapist said we were. He apparently is a reflection of us. 😥
we, the white working class, don't have power or stolen wealth, and therefore we need to align ourselves with land back, black nationalism and migrant workers. we cant do it while capitalist rulers control the narrative, though.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t just white men. Women outnumber men. According to Statista, there are 165.28 million men and 168 million women. And we can’t get a female president as POTUS? The math doesn’t add up.
And stolen land. White men love power, control and corruption and blame everything on minorities and native Americans. Seal the deal:
We have intentions to do good and they have the intention to slaughter
The most vulnerable person I know is my daughter. In the last general election (UK) I voted for the party who’s MP took the time to have a personal meeting with me and my wife to better understand her (and our) needs, Sarah Greene (Lib Dems). As long as she does things like that, she’s got my vote.
How about finding the most vulnerable being, not just human. We all depend on the web of life. Endangered species are the most vulnerable, and they matter.
Too bad people don't seem to vote this way. It would make sense because chances are that a loved one can be injured, children can be born with disabilities, people lose jobs. I don't understand not wanting to see them be okay. Now we have these assholes thinking of banning polio vaccines, a horror.
I've only once voted selfishly and the Tories lost that election. Since then I've not voted in my own best interest. Except, that a happier, healthier society benefits everyone, including me.
This - this is what my family taught me. And it seems like no one even thinks this is a concept. Even Dem pols like Pelosi think everyone votes for who they think will = them having another $10 in their checking account, i.e. "kitchen table issues." How not inspirational.
This reasoning hit me a while ago when I decided that access was one of the best, most human things I could work on. If we could connect everyone who is excluded, by disability, by class, literacy, health, sex and gender, it would supercharge humanity.

So you mean the Conservative straight white men who are persecuted by woke society right?

The savior complex is not bad thinking until you realize you’re actually looking down on people. Hope this helps!

Seriously though, it's sad that people will vote for laws and people that will directly harm others.

most insignificant thing that bothers you and voting in your own interest.

and you will stay out of trouble.

Be wise 👍

Stolen wealth?
the Muslim empire looted and stole all the wealth in the 13th century taking it to the I Dian subcontinent .
Anything that was taken from there was already stolen.
