As a steak obsessive (me, obsessive?) I'd say the very best beef is Spanish (Galician Blond) followed by Finnish (Sashi) and Japanese (Wagyu, Kobe).
But then I'd have Britain after that. USDA prime (top 2/3% of US beef) is v good but medium/cheap US beef is extremely grim.

To be fair, I've lived in the UK for 17 years. UK beef is more expensive but WAY MORE tasty than all but the most expensive US beef. The same with chicken, pork, and lamb. They all taste better in the UK.

I saw you responded already to another about Argentine beef. When I first visited, I struggled to see why it has such a reputation, until I learnt how to ask for it medium-rare ("jugoso" or "muy jugoso") and finally I wasn't fighting through well-done steak
South Africa and give our examples a try…
Plus there’s a lot of, bluntly, very poor quality Brazilian beef passed off as Argentine, which doesn’t help.
