I couldn't believe the only action the UW chancellor admitted to was furiously checking online databases to see if student visas had been revoked. At the very least warn potential international students that you can't or won't fight to protect them.

I read an article maybe a little over a week ago? Where one of the UCLA college depts was advising international students to lay low, avoid going outside, plus carry contact info for lawyers & an addressed stamped letter on their person to try to release should ICE come to detain them. :(

As an alumnus of Northwestern University, I have asked President Schill to please fight the Trump administration on this. It is completely inappropriate for the administration to be involving it in the internal affairs of higher education. Literally all other alumni I have asked agree on this.

As an aging alum of NU and as a post-doc at Cornell, this hits awfully damn close to home.
