I once had Gus, a 90 lb Rhodesian Ridgeback who was inflicted with DM. He survived for over 2 years in his Eddie's wheel cart. The only sort of help he ever needed was getting up in the truck to go for long walks in the woods or at the beach.

Sometimes dogs just know. Years ago I had an elderly dog that needed some help walking so I got her a wheelchair. They had all kinds of advice on how to introduce it and leave it out for them to see for a few days before trying it on. Nope. She knew what it was for and wasn't going to wait. ❤️
