We should have all bought bunkers instead of volunteering and giving any of the no good do nothing politicians. Lucky for the few of knew. Good luck and god bless
Pretty and majestic meant for fleeting moments from vivid green to fuchsia and white, a treasure. It stands alone for a little while only to be joined by so many others and others still"~Rainni
Oh that’s gorgeous!!! Shady boggy yard, we only have masses of daylilies for the most part (June) which are so common you forget how beautiful they are individually. Like this one you show
My grandmother had an acre inside a city block that was 95% iris ... the other 5% were raspberries and grape vines. There was one in particular I waited to bloom each year. She had almost every color and variety, tall and short, rippled and smooth beards. Gawd I miss her. "Thurman Iris Garden"
Be proactive: ask questions and give yourself time to truly learn. I've seen someone jump in without paying attention and, after two days, say, "I don't get it." Well, two days aren't enough. You have to invest the time.

I love the classics. I am toying with buying some van Gogh Iris bulbs. The color/pattern is designed like the painting. They might look nice in my irises.
I was first bearded in evening light,
Though I was but young, and green, and slight.
Memory sparks, and sets alight
The embers of old and fading sight,
The echoes of thoughts that softly bite,
The touch of a moment holds me tight.

I hope mine come out this year.
Our iris came in handy when my mom lost hers to mice. We were able to give her starters from what she'd given us as starters years ago.

Mine are about 4 inches high.
