Glad I’m not the only one who hears Dom Deluise’s voice whenever someone says the word “sparkly” with any sense of pleasure or wonder. Jeremy was the best.
The scrub jays keep taking the glow in the dark stones from my birdbath. Going to put a tray of pretties across the creek where the local ravens hang out. Not worth putting out tasties. Just draws squirrels here.
For a while, I used to live in a neighbourhood where there was a murder of crows. I used to go out and feed them corn. They started bringing me all kinds of shiny objects, including a set of keys.
My local Corvid neighbours were escorting their newest fledglings out for their 1st tour of the 'hood this AM, so, probably 1st left the nest 2 days ago.
Day 1 = checking out the nest tree beyond the nest.
Day 2 = checking out the immediate grounds UNDER nest tree + learning about these here wings!
I know of this bc crows have nested in a tree on or very near to every house hubby & I have owned so Ive had front row seats for 2 "1st day on ground" explorations! 1st was a nest of triplets! SO freakin' hysterical to watch.

They are all over my hood baby time wonderful smart birds they know what's happening down here I'm sure they wish we would stop polluting their air and start freaking getting along the real maga and Trump need to find an island of their own and leave the rest of us alone
That would terrify me. I was traumatized by a blue Jay trying to get my cat out of a tree. I fell out of the tree and landed on my head on concrete. I cracked my skull open and required 81 stitches. I was 12 and lost my hair so that they could treat my head from infection.
for we cannot help agreeing that no living human being ever yet was blessed with seeing bird above his chamber door. bird or beast upon the sculptured bust above his chamber door with such a name as nevermore!
They really are so smart I new a dude who had a pet crow(injured permanently couldn't fly just short flying/gliding like a chicken) he was so intelligent it was shocking he functioned to this man like a pirates parrot and seemed to know words. Not just repeat them but know their meanings. Wild👌
I mean I always knew crows were smart watching them cooperate to do things as a kid and talk to each other. This crow though was a real eye opener if a bird with a tiny brain like that can be all that smart and have such a personality we are not giving enough animals credit for their intelligence🇨🇦🤦
i missy crow buddies so much i used to feed a crow family on my balcony then i moved. now i have new crow buddies though. i wonder if they talk vancouver crows are a community mebe they talk, because new crow buddies where i am seem friendly to me they like me and get very close to me
You may well have interpreted correctly. I’m not used to seeing which replies go with which post yet on this platform. I’ve been on a while but don’t post often.
This is why I talk at crows when I see them at home or work. They bring shiny things, mainly mica (mineral) pieces. And cornbread. Which makes me wonder where they are getting it, why they are not eating it, and why do they leave it in my flowerbed?!
Hmm…I can think of some folks that deserve this view of a corvid as the last view of anything for the rest of their life. The best part is the corvid gets a delightfully juicy snack out of it. Clever and useful, that should be on the corvid family crest. 😁🐦⬛
I mix shelled and unshelled peanuts. I usually put them out in the morning. When I was trying to sleep in on Saturday, 5 of them lined up outside my bedroom window and yelled until I got up.
I’ve been feeding a single one for almost a year now. I don’t know why he got kicked out of the group but I always felt sad for him. Today he came and he brought a friend and I thought my heart was going to explode. 🖤

Thanks for asking!
How are you??
Mrs. Brisby: Behave yourself?
Jeremy: I'm not that bad. I just need a few pointers to polish my style.
I feel heard.
Truly a Raven with attitude! 👍😁😍

What's on your wish list?
I'd still love to be adopted by a crow. ❤️
There is bird feed out in the garden for you.

Thank you!
Sometimes they show up with snacks that I gave them 2 or 3 days ago to dip in the water bowl.
No thanks, I am socially distancing so I don't get CORVID-19.
10/10 Would protect from my hungry kitties. (They like bird watching at least. Never caught a bird)
The consensus so far is get peanuts
Birds ignore capsaicin - mammals don't.
Soon they will return to show off the younglings.
Fun and peanuts.
