Hi Dr. Sax!
“Wiki” essentially refers to crowd-sourcing. We go through the same rigorous process in guideline development however we have very strict criteria on what we can “recommend” to minimize discrepancy between strength of rec and strength of evidence. Happy to chat more if interested!

I would embellish the recommendation criteria, which is the single biggest advantage of WikiGuidelines. We are not allowed to make recommendations unless there is reproducible, controlled, prospective data. In the absence of that level of evidence, pros and cons of various options are discussed.

Thanks. It's confusing because the meaning of the prefix "wiki" is "fast" -- and I bet putting that together was anything but fast! There are plans to revise these are a quicker basis than traditional guidelines and they also usually come together quicker than traditional guidelines so I would argue it meets both of those meanings too!

Things I’ve learned about estrogen from my pts:

-It can be messy; acknowledge and validate it takes some time to get used to it

-Takes a few months to work; pts may still have a uti and so encourage not to give up on it
