Trump's dismantling of US empire is ironic and chaotic - but I'm already tired of liberals saying it's some kind of crime against humanity that yet another great power is destroying itself from within. US power has been a malign influence for half a century; it's time to let it die.

I’m in a blood red district. I write our newly elected Republican rep nearly every day. He’s dead silent. He’s not even celebrating Trump. It’s just nothing. No responses, no town halls, no press releases, not even a single update to his website since the election. Pure cowardice.
Also they haven’t broken trade deals with allies, just made a lot of threats. Anyway, tariffs or broken trade agreements are a kind of global influence if not a lasting one.
