I get that but the amount we all pay currently could already be giving us the life we want but our governments are captured by corporate interests and we waste incalculable amounts of money on war
Even if the 1% dont contribute we should be better tsken care of than currently are
But you've pinpointed the trouble. Our government has been doing the bidding of corporate interests since at least the Vietnam War. Wars enrich the rich, and kill the poor soldiers, like my cousins who were killed during WWII, leaving families behind.
📌 dude that understands the assignment when asked for a political hot take. Yes, in fact, we ~could~ have nice things like enough food, housing and healthcare for everyone.

700,000 unhoused ppl in america with population 350 million means 0.2% are unhoused
if every renter or mortgage payer paid 0.2% tax on rent\mortgage, then all the unhoused could be housed and living like the rest of us
So what are they doing with all our tax money? 🤔

If we stopped wars and did that, can you just imagine what we could achieve, dedicating the rest to arts & science?
