McCarty's last interview (including joking about dressing as the "Sci fi pope" to come to Glasgow WorldCon) shows just how little he understood how his actions stained the entire organisation.

"McCarty'd" at least makes it clear his name isn't surviving even if his ego did.

I locked myself out of my house today!

The door automatically unlocks when you leave but today it didn’t. Went out to clear snow off my car and couldn’t get back in.

Luckily the basement door was unlocked, but I had to push through brambles to reach it. Only a few drops of blood lost.
