This is regrettable. Rushdie is important in a literary and historic sense and a symbol of freedom of expression under assault. I would certainly want to hear him speak.

But if it's something about Palestine, judging by the quotes, Rushdie's position is not that wrong. If that's the excuse to reject him, those kids need to grow up.

There are many levels to the fuckedupness of this.
Obviously, that's not the sort of thing that will go over well with most modern college kids. Of course, there would be protests and disruptions and deservedly so.
