I have had so many patients have severe flare ups of their inflammatory arthritis caused by the stress of these assessments.
At one stage it got so bad that my first question was to ask when their DWP assessment was!
In addition to being unnecessarily cruel, how does this save society money?

Not least cos those forms are set up for physical disability. Twisting them to meet mental illness is a contortion act where stereotypes are rife

And that small subtle step from 4 to 2 points in ONE criteria is a loss of nearly £10,000 per annum to some people. A subtle misinterpretation of language could be very costly indeed

You should try going to tribunal. No, scratch that. I hope you never have to go to a tribunal. They deliver the most awful enduring trauma you could imagine. Talk about character assassination. Don't think the disabled person on the panel is automatically on your side either.

I'm terrified for our young relatives. They have physical and mental health conditions and just can't cope with this kind of stress. No future Tory/Reform govt will make this better. We won't be here for ever to try to support them
