I know it sounds like treating as a joke or not taking it seriously. But he's gone up against Putin. He can take on Trump too. And yes, I know what that means. But Trump is a bitch and Zelensky still has cards to play.

President Zelensky has rejected a US proposal to take ownership of around 50% of the rights to Ukraine's rare earth minerals and is trying to negotiate a better deal, according to several people familiar with the matter.

now I get war exhaustion might get them to take a bad deal but not a disastrous one.
But I'd be much happier if those resources were controlled by Ukraine that America's kleptocrats.
It's not insignificant that Vance wrote a blurb for the guy's book or that the newly sarcastic/trolling Army Twitter feed reads like his work.
Is he making policy here?
They can't match US dollar for dollar, but they should've matched by GDP proportions. Look at the map at Ukraine Support Tracker. (link below)
Trump is disgusting. Ukraine should refuse to negotiate unless it's under EU or UN mediation. Trump's clearly got conflicts of interest.
Dreaming he chuckled then calmly ripped it into pieces the size of toilet paper sheets, put them in a nice little stack and shoved the pile over the table to Vance.
The larger point, tho, is that if Europe (+uk) decides to go it alone without the US, their home arms industries are easily capable of picking up any slack.
Not sure what cards Z has to play when the US’ support is needed to maintain the materiel demands for the conflict.

He’s going to surprise orange felon.
And I bet it's Musk's idea. These greedy fucks want other peoples' stuff, plain and simple.
Not a grownup country, but…maybe a miracle will happen
A subsumed Ukrainian military only more enables more aggressive Russian imperialism and gives MAGA more time to consolidate our military.
Best guess: The US gets the rights to the Ukranian natural resources and Russia gets free hands to occupy the eastern and southern parts of Ukraine.
This would explain the sudden American interest in Ukranian mineral rights.
