Why would Dems vote for a clean CR with DOGE able to decide what funds they will allow to be paid? Make it make sense.

If the Dems vote for this CR they are confirming DOGE’s actions.

I can’t imagine one Dem would vote for the CR without heavy assurances that DOGE is sidelined.

I have less than zero confidence. A new Democratic Rep in my blue state was at her town hall & TV saying that a gov't shutdown would close courts while ICE stayed open & so be dangerous.

They are going to pass the CR for Republicans & get nothing in return. Any other outcome will shock me.

It would be great to see the democrats hold the line, and I really hope that they do, but they haven't really stood up enough so far and I wonder if they will finally do so and hold out for enforceable provisions that will automatically kick in when the executive branch fails to enforce

Absolutely no Dem votes unless DOGE is on the chopping block. This is a real easy moral and logical moment. Even if they got no cuts, it doesn't matter as long as DOGE is around because they'll just do the cuts another way (i.e. illegally).
