This is wild. Trump says he’s withdrawing his executive order targeting the Paul Weiss law firm because they acknowledged “wrongdoing.”

They’re also going to provide “$40 million in pro bono legal services over the course of President Trump's term to support the Administration's initiatives”

Depends on who dominates the firm as-is. My guess is it's dominated by economically strong partners who are Trump supporters or mercenaries who don't care. If so they keep the name and those who care enough to leave come up with exit strategies.

I think this is illegal. I guess the firm would know - but I thought there’s an anti-augmentation clause. Private actors can’t provide services that aren’t paid for through appropriations.
