One of my former colleagues said today that this is the best way for these companies to bring their businesses back to the U.S., which will also create more jobs here at home. The delusion is real.
Tariffs are taxes imposed on goods imported from other countries, increasing the cost of the import process, not the cost of the export process. The tax is levied upon arrival to be paid by the distributor who in turn passes the cost to the consumer. might this clear things up a bit?
Another byproduct of tariffs is to redirect tax collection on the consumer to allow a tax cut to another segment of the population. In our case Corporations or greedy pigs. Tariffs generating $1.5 trillion can allow for a cut of $1.5 trillion to the Corps and pigs leaching off society
Since 1935, tariff income has continued to be a declining percentage of Federal tax income.
🍊& his S.African twin want tariffs so they WONT pay their taxes.
Tariffs are a stealth way to put taxes on the middle/working/poor classes. They just call them tariffs but it is a tax to raise money for the government that we have no say over. In fact, it feels like taxation without representation.
No sugar-coating that one. Say it LOUD AND CLEAR. Last time, Trump's "TARIFFS" gave those at the top of the wealth food chain a nice $2+Billion tax cut. The little guy who has to buy things just to survive is made to pay off the ROBBER BARONS.
I was an econ. minor & also an importer. As an importer into the US I paid the tariff. Guess what. I included that tariff in my cost of goods sold & then, I included that tariff in my price to my customers. This is not a hard concept. Whats complex is understanding how/where/when to use them.
Unfortunately, too many uneducated people believed Trump's lies. Let’s see how long it takes them to actually figure it out and realize they will not get cheaper eggs 😳🤣🤣🤣
By 2021, the production of aluminum in the US was down to just 880,000 tons, compared to the 4.3 million metric tons the U.S. consumed that year.
So if the US is producing only about 20% of what they consume, what jobs are being protected by adding tariffs to the Canadian aluminum it imports?
not only are you paying the tariff, but you’re also paying a higher sales tax on those products as well so the overall amount you spend is hyper-bloated.
While many foreign leaders have calledTrump out on his bullshit, their citizens,by the hundreds of thousands are enhancing their reading skills & rejecting produce and foodstuffs “Made in America”
The Brainless Buffoon hasn’t even been sworn in but he’s already losing the US millions of $ in trade
Until they begin to feel the pain of their decision few of them will understand just how badly they were lied to and how easily they fell prey to the lies that flowed from Trump and his circle. And by then, it will be too late.
trump wrongly argues that the exporter pays the tariff while the world knows it’s the importer! Makes no difference! A tariff is a tax & raises the price of an item. Consumers pay the raised price! End of story! His China/soy/tariff about ruined our farmers! Some lost farms-some committed suicide!
The interesting part is there are frustrated people out there still really struggling over inflation and they may have voted simply for change more than anything.
It’s going to be really tough when they realize that the change they asked for might go in the opposite direction.
Cruelty is those of us who aren't in the top 1% is the purpose. So to make people who can ill afford to make ends meet now will be on the street. Children will not have proper medical care and food. Nor will the adults.
This is true. But, if people won't buy a product because of its cost, the company gets hurt. That's why it's not a tariff. It's a protection racket. He is hiding behind the word tariff. Think Mafia tactics.
Yes this is true. But we have to approach Trump and MAGA like being on the spectrum. What are their real issues and why are they focused in tariffs? We can’t just dismiss their issues.
Trump's tariffs, if implemented, will be paid by all the Trump supporters who shop at Walmart -- and they'll blame the Dems for having to pay higher prices.
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum will retaliate against trumps 25% tariffs with a tariff war against the United States. It will cost 400,000 US Jobs. He’s wasting his time with immigration. We need a global solution. There are holes under his stupid wall big enough for cattle. He’s so stupid.
If you live in the US & were thinking of replacing a major appliance, or getting a newer used car & have the means: do it now. It will cost at least 20% ⬆️ after the ferret-wearing, sh*t gibbon takes office.
Yep. Apparently when the purchaser picks up the product (or it gets delivered), the tariff cost is right on the invoice, along with taxes, duty, etc.
That's a cost the purchaser pays to the US Treasury because you bought it out of country, instead of the US.
Trump is going to give them a stimulus check or two to pay for those tariffs! Right? Since this is the reason some of them claim they're voting for him again! 🤦♀️🤣🤣🤣🤣
Better draw it out in crayon, so that Trump and the MAGA toothless corn-fed can understand. Hey incels! Your beef jerky and Twinkies are gonna cost ALOT more. Luckily, you can pick up extra work from all the jobs the deported immigrants have ĺeft!
The intention of Tariffs is to force U.S companies to come begging to Trump to exclude them from tariffs. Once they do this, Trump owns them. Pay attention to the companies that get special “exclusions.”
This is how crony capitalism works.
There's no way for this to happen. These types of importer "exclusions" do not exist in the Customs Regs (I'm a licensed US customs broker).
If the concept of importer "exclusions" were to become a thing, it would first require an act of Congress.
The people who believe that the countries are going to pay the tariffs won't believe it until prices start going sky high and then they'll probably try to blame it on President Biden. Their stupidity is going to be borne by all of us.

Construction and Housing prices soared.
American consumers payed huge price.
So if the US is producing only about 20% of what they consume, what jobs are being protected by adding tariffs to the Canadian aluminum it imports?

It’s so easy you’d have to be stupid not to.

It’s going to be really tough when they realize that the change they asked for might go in the opposite direction.
For consumers, they mean higher prices. For the targeted country, they mean fewer jobs and less investment.
In the end, it’s a lose-lose strategy that creates more problems than it solves.
Probably not.
Hi handsome, wishing you a happy wonderful Holiday 🧡😘

TFG bailed the farmers out with socialism then. Now, China goes everywhere else in the world to get what it needs.
