I care about both. It’s why I support housing density to avoid far less efficient land uses that require clear cutting more acres of our forests for suburbs and highways
Excuse me sir I demand that you bulldoze an entire forest on the outskirts of Kirkland or Issaquah so I can keep my single family house a half a mile from a light rail station. Yes there is one tree in the yard because nature is sacred.
Urban trees are important and not just ornamental (I just waited >4 hours to make a purely pro-density public comment, don't come after me) and a tree in a forest is not equivalent to a tree in the city.
Environmentalism is when you preserve the trees near where you live, but people have to cut them down on the outskirts of the city instead and then the people living in the new housing are forced to drive more!
