Spot on, these are family traditions rather than regional. If you have happy memories of Father Christmas/Santa Claus/whoever as a kid you want to pass that down to your kids (or at least I did)
Factoid: yer actual Liver Bird statues were made right here in my hometown by the local craftsmen's guild, who also made the gates and railings for some place in That London called Buckingham Palace (which sounds rubbish)
I always thought Father Christmas was the English tradition and Santa Claus was the American one. According to this article (https://www.english-heritage.org.uk/christmas/the-history-of-father-christmas/) that's mostly true, although FC adopted many traits of SC in Victorian times, so SC is the one closest to the modern day figure.
Unable to lie to my kids, I just told them I had not grown up with SC- although their mother did. So she was totally responsible for all discussions of that "Person" . We did both Hanukkah and Xmas... And such an elaborate Xmas ritual...
As mine was one of only a couple of Jewish families in my small suburban town, my mother was very pleased to have never gotten That Call from any of the Christian parents...
I was wondering why NI was missing off this map tho. If it was a map of Britain, I'd understand, but it's of british, and they claim it's that. ROI writes to a different source tho so depending on where you are, yours may be late.
Can I have Tabitha the Christmas Hedgehog deliver mine in the US? Or does she subcontract out to Patty the Porcupine?
I mean she is checking up on us anyway.
Rudolf with your yellow reflective nose plate, won't you pull my train so late? All of the other reindeer got off at Leamington Spa, they wouldn't let poor Rudolf split his ticket and travel via K.N.U.C.K.L.E

Who are Tabitha and Gef?
Not sure why Merseyside and Lancashire are no-one tbh, was always Father Christmas for us.
My name comes from the Merseyside region.
I feel seen. Family traditions may last a LONG time .

But the map is right.
I mean she is checking up on us anyway.

Also the (no-one) is a bit misleading as in reality round these parts you nick someone else's presents, so really it's down to you.
