Interesting insights from this survey in Leeds.
Topping the list of journeys people would find hard without a car are orbital ones:
“Radial journeys in and out of the city centre are easy. Anything vaguely circumferential is impossible unless you go into the city and out again.”
Same in Bristol.

Here's a sneak peak at what we've learned so far from our survey!
A new blog post from Dr Elena Alyavina digs into the question of what Leeds residents would find most difficult to do without a car.

Such facilities would be good for other cities.

We use the 11 to get across from SE Edinburgh to the SW. There are lots of great buses from the Royal Infirmary but that’s three roads over for us and a half hour walk.
Extra options if we go in to Cameron Toll.
It's almost as if Leeds "has blindly drifted" into planning and implementing radial routes for public transport and bikes, to actually preserve the orbital routes for drivers, as their private (but "hindrance-free" 😉!) preserve?
Drivers "ratrunning" between E & N Leeds are ... "not the best" 😡.
What riles me?
- That train/bus/bike in Leeds involves a trip into, and then out of the city centre?
- That orbital "freedom" in Leeds (and safety!) is reserved for motorists and ratrunners?
[Note - fine cycle infra round the Outer Ring Road/ELOR is *NOT* practical, orbital cycle transport! 😡]
