Although I understand the logic of the idea, it also strikes me as a form of "obeying in advance."

Biden should totally do this. Also all non-violent drug offenders in federal prison.
So I don't think the number is the issue. Courage, and actually trying to make it harder for Trump to kill our democracy. I wish/hope Biden's advisers are thinking big about this right now.

And secondly, the Supreme Court basically gave trump a post and pre-emptive pardon to do anything.
MAGA is just going to project what they do onto Biden anyway. At least this will provide some cover and frustration

I think he'll be making pardons to prevent his own accountability for corruption, curry favor with the unretired politicians he likes, and possibly to get paid.
