Shiri was murdered by Hamas hands. As were her children, who were killed by hand (ie not shot) after which their bodies were mutilated to hide that fact and try to make it appear they were killed by an airstrike.

The body arrived at the forensics lab around 0250 local time. The announcement was made a couple of hours later. They are not explicitly saying it because it's understood, it's politesse, and it was given to her kibbutz to announce it.
