Many, if not most, major airlines (which are major businesses) have leadership rich enough to be Trump supporters because they will benefit from the tax cuts. At least that’s my opinion 🤷🏻♀️
Air Canada and Westjet have both announced they'll be making cuts to cross-border flights in/out the US. They say it's about reinvesting more into flights within Canada but I can't help but be curious of the timing. Is it too big a risk to fly in the US at the moment (safety and then being sued)
One day soon there will be an actual collision. These are the “lucky nothing bad really happened” days because something bad is going to happen. Again.
pls keep your planes in america. next thing will be lack of maintenance of the planes bc there won’t be any qualified folks anymore. thanks from europe.
I will NOT fly! I'll drive for days, if needed, but I will not fly now. I have had to fly commercial and private for most of my career, but we are now living in the age of insanity!
You should define major. The DC crash was just waiting to happen by all accounts. Airline go-arounds are a daily occurrence, just aren't breathlessly reported. I agree time will tell, and those actually in the know think it will get worse. Recent incidents cannot be blamed on the new guys tho.
Where’s Sean Duffy? He made an entire personality out of criticizing democratic leadership and now that he’s in charge he’s no where to be found and asleep at the wheel.
This lies once again with the private jet and ATC..As a jet,if u cross a runway,it is your duty too check the runway is clear,if u refuse to then u are putting your passengers at risk.Just because ATC says its ok,does not mean u dont have a duty of care..Id remove the private pilots licence
I've always been leery of flying, have only done so on a few occasions. Now it's out of the question. Goof Ball's at the Helm think they're so smart, cutting so many services. Only the Cult supporters/followers think it's a good thing, because all they care about is $$$$$$$$$$.
At what point does the flying public lose confidence and airlines see demand collapse? At that stage they may wish to finance the FAA themselves to protect it from government interference!?
Good thing I decided after the election that I wouldn't even pass through the US when I travel by air. It makes me so sad to see that every day, America sinks deeper into folly and shame.
I will drive anywhere in the country until we get some proper staffing back for air travel. This cut will result in lots of blood on their greedy little hands.
It’s almost like when you put a guy in charge with no expertise in anything, who will not take advice from people with experience, and is too arrogant to understand the importance of knowledge, things go wrong?
Correlation does not equal causation.
But in this case, I think we all might be willing to make an exception.
In truth, we must begin to accept that there are long-term systemic issues with our government and society. Blame won't solve our problems. We need serious leaders with vision to help us.
Need deep dive investigation of Elon Musk & Carlos Slim cancelation of $7B Starlink contract
Musk
Fires FAA director
Says Verizon not working Verizon had upgrade plans in place
Planes fall
Announces massive conflict of interest Starlink contract with FAA

Are we great yet? It seems to me we have tanked in 30 days. The stock market is down, inflation and groceries are up, social systems, healthcare, aid, and vet benefits are lost, and 250,000 people are out of work. We are not great yet. That's all before tariffs kick in. Disaster.
What could go wrong. "Elon Musk’s “DOGE” cost-cutting squad will soon turn its attention to America’s air traffic control system, Transportation Secy Duffy “Talked to the DOGE team. They are going to plug in to help upgrade our aviation system,” Duffy said." https://www.yahoo.com/news/musk-cost-cutters-plug-air-195658811.html
Never thought I would say this but I can understand why one woman threw holy water on her plane before departing. Who ever thought letting Musk anywhere near air traffic control was an idiot.
Imagine being a single mother waiting tables or a kid working in a beach shop while going to college and everyone stops traveling because we keep pushing this false narrative.
Do we not think planes crashing will take away attention from the coup and the monstrous things they're doing? If you think he/they care about human life... well, they don't.
More than that. My sister's plane inbound to Charlotte from Tampa last week had to pull up on a landing to avoid a collision. How many aren't being reported?
Great. I chose to fly in and out of Charlotte from London over a busy place like Philadelphia specifically to avoid a fatal collision. I had better make sure my will is up to date before I travel.
I have no proper will yet. However, my job has death in service benefits. Something like £140,000 up front and some or all of my pension. That goes to my sister as I have no dependants. It's better than a kick in the backside and will cover the next 4 years (unless he cancels elections).
This is not unique and is being hyped in the media for ratings and support of FAA privatization. Yes, Conald and Muskrat aren’t going to help, but we need to ensure we aren’t being played.
Comments
They're not liable for an accident caused by ATC, and they have insurance on their property. They won't start caring until people stop flying.

There are actual, concrete terms for this. It’s called an emergency go around because of a runway incursion.
My bet is if we're lucky, no such accident until the skies are really full, like around 4th of july or thanksgiving
I mean that’s pretty unbelievable stuff, right 🙄
